Guest guest
How do you interpret the various visions encountered during meditation ? Are there any particular visons which a sadhaka might have during his meditation that tells him that he is on the right track. Guest guest
Hi Vinay , As far as i know The visions and experiences in meditation can be best understood only if we have a Direct guide like a SadGuru . Normally the visions and whatever experiences comes may be of illusion also ,but even if we get Genuine Visions we may not be having that maturity to interpret their real meaning of them . The best thing is to have contact with a Guru or with an advanced seeker of truth or with a saint who has practical experience in the path of truth. There is a sagduru whom i met and from my own personal experience i'm stating this ! , he lives in shirdi ,mostly he spends time for penance in different piligramage centres. Guest guest
Scriptures have mentioned several kinds of visions, such as seeing light, images of gods or Gods, of your ishta devata. They also speak of the Anahata Dhvani which is the sound of the Eternal Om ringing in your ears after much meditation... THe scriptures say that such visions are positive signs of progress in meditation but one should not get bogged down on them or get proud of them as it will not aid in further progress...progress is Infinite! As Sri Ramakrishna said " go forward " whatever the stage you are at... > >How do you interpret the various visions encountered >during meditation ? Hello all, my name is William and I am a 23 year old devotee of Kali Ma. It may sound impossible, but I had a vision of her about 3 years ago and my life has completely changed for the better. I knew nothing of Hinduism at the time either! I felt that if God could visit me in such a beautiful manner that I could only try my best to return the favour. I left red flowers everywhere, chanted mantras, studied all I could and tried to be the best devotee that I could for Ma Kali. I have been studying Hindustani music as a means to connect with my spirit and have had some success. I will be going to India twice over the next year to study music once for 3 months and again for a full year. I hope in this time I can also learn much about Hinduism, Indian culture and hopefully Kali and Lord Shiva. My point is let the visions guide you if they come and you can interpret them, but never think you've reached and end to something that has no limit! What's true for you is only yours. You can't convert anyone and shouldn't try. The universe speaks to everyone differently. For me, I have seemed to gain success at things which for a Westerner seem really abstract and difficult! This was because I needed no further convincing than the faith I have from seeing Ma and Shiva. So I only hope that I can do well for others by showing them to follow their hearts to the truth as I myself have done and am trying to do. Some of my friends have pursued their own non-Hindu spirituality because of seeing my actions and it makes me happy, but I can take no credit for it. God is much bigger than any human being! Visions are a very personal thing and if you meditate on them it should become clear as to what they are telling you if they are genuine. My folks have gone to the Vedanta center here since 1960, so I grew up about and around such images as Ramakrishna and Vivekananda...etc. When I was about 14 I became interested in reading the gospel. During meditation one afternoon, my 8X10 photo of Ramakrishna came to life. He smiled and played and got up and danced a bit. I've not told too many people this for fear that some might think I have lost my mind. Since that experience tho, when I look at the picture, for me he IS alive. The thing was such a shock for me, because when I was young I was more of a buddhist, not so interested in the human manifestation. It goes to show you that when the incarnation chooses to touch you, it makes a lover out of you. My Love afair with Ramakrishna will never dissipate.
