Guest guest
i happened to see this movie the other day ( A true story) and it got me thinking... (For those who have not seen the movie, it is about a Princeton Prof who was diagnosed with schizophrenia, but fought it to win the Nobel Prize...it is a movie worth seeing...) The hallucinations that Prof John Nash saw were just that...hallucinations. But they were 'real' enough for him. He was not able to tell the difference between those illusions and real life, for quite some time in his life. Were those termed hallucinations because only John Nash was seeing them and no one else...and hence it was not objectively verifiable? His mind may have been attuned in a way for those visions to come thru to him and no one else...does that alone make it 'unreal' What is the difference between those hallucinations and the visions and images that Sages, St Francis, Bernadette and Sri Ramakrishna saw? After all these visions were not seen by others...only by the Saints. I suppose i do have some conclusions i have come to for easing my own mind, but i would really like some feedback from others on this. thanks _______________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Dear Jai~ Raam: May I refer you to my book, THE VISIONS OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA . There you will find discussion of the subject and also see that some visions are seen by more than one person, and under what conditions.
