Guest guest
The Master Teaches Dispassion The rich marwari merchant offered rupees ten thousand, as if to test your dispassion; politely you refused, and in turn, pointed towards the Mother. The Mother, your first disciple, shy but firm, reiterated: " No sir, I can't touch a penny, for it would mean the same thing - The Master has accepted the money. " You equated the glittering gold with ordinary clods of earth, threw them both in the Ganges with equal ease, O Yogi of equanimous poise. The insignificant coin under the bed made you recoil in pain, you exemplified the scriptures by your unique reaction dispassion in thought, word and action. Out of compassion for the world You performed these sadhanas, and showed us the blessed way; O Gracious Sri Ramakrishna, in your devotion let me stay. * c s shah http://www.geocities.com/neovedanta
