Guest guest
Dear R.D.: Thank so much for sharing the practical wisdom of Swami Sivananda. He reminds me of Swami Brahmananda in the directness and understandability of his teachings. I like how he handled the paradox of "grace." As ramakrishna explained, "The breeze of God's grace is always blowing. Set your sails to catch this breeze." (The Kathamrita) In essence, grace does not come through belief or dogma, but spiritual action (even surrendering to God requires that we "do" something). Christ taught us the same "vedantic formulae" - He did not say, "'Believe' in God with all your heart, mind and soul . . . but, 'love' Him with all your heart, mind and soul - which requires effort - the very same effort required by meditation. God Bless, Brad
