Guest guest
One day a person was seen distributing sweets at a temple. This is normally done to celebrate some good event. So the people asked him, " What is the cause for this celebration? " He replied, " My horse is lost " . The people showed surprise, " If your horse is lost why are you so happy? " " Just imagine, if I were riding the horse, I too would have been lost - I am so lucky, hence this celebration, " said the man. The people laughed, how silly they thought. Our situation is much worse than that of that man and his lost horse. In our case, the horse is intact but we have lost the rider - " our true-selves " and yet we are not even aware of our predicament. Our horse is our body (our possessions - even our mental faculties). We have lost the rider - our true-self - but hang on to our horses and carry on celebrating the loss of the rider. : )
