Dear Mr. Sunil

Nice to receive ur reply , its nice that some people are still working or

thinking for the betterment of society or for the upliftment of human race

but still I want to say that it may be that you may have much more

expereience than me as i am still not too old (22yrs) in terms of wordly

matter , but i remember one Saying of Kabir ji , he said to a person named

Sarvajeet who came to had a debate on religious matters with Kabir ji , he

was well versed in all Vedas and religious books , he asked Kabirji to

have a debate on vedas , etc (Sashtrath) but Kabirji said Your and mine

heart will not become one because you will say what you have read and I will

say what i have seen . So friend its of no use to Just read and had

disscussion about God unless and until you realise him and it is rule of

Nature that no one in this world has attained God without A Guru . My work

was just simply to invoke a feeling within you so that that search for god

is startrd , friend search for such a master who can practically make you

realise God becoz such a guru is still in this world now also so plz think

and if you feel then search

bye

Dear Gaurav

Yes! But the most important thing is to be looking for the answers to some

sincere questions.

Trust life well enough to lead us on the right path( It can be very

difficult sometimes!). All the things will happen in time.

Why do we need a guru? Or why do we need a spiritual life(or is a spiritual

life to be differentiated from our own normal life). You may want to read

some books on the lives of great saints and wonder in what manner it relates

to your life(if at all). Question everything and sincerely search for the

answers(you will need solitude to pursue these questions). Take nothing for

granted till then.

Use thoughts and feelings to look at the answers and see in what manner it

relates to your personal experience.

Trust yourself to find whatever you need.

All the above I take as advise for myself. Wishing me the very best.

Sunil

I would like to add to what Gaurav said.

Without a Guru there's no way to attain to God. Infact, God himself

sends the Guru so that the Guru purifies us and makes us reach God.

When we are impure we cannot see God or realize him. But Guru is like

a mother, takes care of us at every step and corrects all our faults,

teaches devotion, makes us yearn for true spirituality and finally

after all this, makes us get a vision of God. In many ways, Guru is

of greater importance than God itself becasue at all the stages, when

we cannot see God, Guru only leads on the path and takes care.

Sri Eknath has sung in his song that his Guru Janardhana is his " Kula-

Deivam " and that Guru is his mother and father. Similarly is the case

with Kabir das and other great saints.

But we cannot use our intelligence and reasoning or logic to sort out

the right Guru. With our limited knowledge we cannot even understand

the ordinary things in the world. So the question determining whether

a particular Guru is perfect or not is not easy.

But if we seek God truly, then he will send us to the right Guru or

rather send the Guru to us itself. In some way or the other we will

be guided to the right Guru.

The above can be seen from Dhruva's story where his only objective

was to seek darshan of God. But he was only 5yrs old and knew nothing

about Dhyanam, Japam, or how to meditate or even where the forest was

etc. But God sent Narada to instruct Dhruva. Narada blesses Dhruva,

tells him about the attributes of Lord and how to meditate on his

form and also gives him a mantra (Dwadasaakshari). Finally Narada

also prevents obstacles in Dhruva's path.

Narada goes to his father, the king Uttanapadha who is contemplating

on sending soldiers to look for his son. NArada tells the king not to

disturb Dhruva and says that Dhruva will himself be back after

achieving a great purpose.

The true Guru always talks only about Bhakti, and reaching God.

There's no material talk or demonstration of Siddhis with him. Though

at times Guru also displays some truly divine miracles.

One can feel the spiritual progress oneself, when material things

slowly start getting boring, marriages are get-togethers become less

interesting than a Satsangam or Guru's lectures. We can feel the

impermanence of happiness and life at every instant and question the

futility of our material pursuits at every stage and lead life just

as instructed by the Guru with no personal aspirations or ambitions.

We can feel how time is slipping every instant without any proper

sadhana (dhyanam or reading Bhagavatam or Ramayana) being made.

Guru's influence is too overpowering that one need not do anything

else than merely follow his words verbatim. Guru's greatness and

importance cannot be said in words.

Jai Sadgurunath
