There was a discussion about Sri Shantanada Puri who is a disciple of

Sri Purushottama Nanda a very great saint who lived near Rishikesh

and in Vasisht Guha (cave).

Sri Purushottama Nanda's Guru was none other than Rakhal who was

himself one of the main disciples of Thakur, Sri Ramakrishna.

It might be interesting to note that Sri Purushottama Nanda, is also

believed to have had visions of Christ while meditating in the

Vasisht Guha, and is believed to be a re-incarnation of one of the

Apostles of Christ.

Now, Sri Shantananda Puri, when he met his Guru for the first time

was given the " Bhagavatam " and asked to read it continuously for the

rest of his life.

I am forwarding a link to Shantananda Puri, and his book which is a

commentary and a analysis of the various chapters and inner-content

of the Bhagavatam and its importance in his life and for everyone's

life.

This would also be interesting reading for Ellyn whose dad is

currently ailing, and in the context that Sri Shantananda brings

about an interesting link between, Sri Ramakrishna, Srimad

Bhagavatam, and Sri PurushottamaNanda, (an apostle of Jesus) and

Ellyn's father who happens to be a Christian.

My 2 cents worth & the link to the web-page:
