Guest guest
See yourself in All (Story taken from Swami Ramadas collection) Once a man bought a lot of little mirrors and fixed them up all around his room. He was very egocentric and liked to look at himself. He stood in the middle of the room and saw his reflections in all the mirrors and felt extremely pleased. Then he left the room but forgot to close the door. A dog happened to come into the room. It too saw lots of reflections of dogs all around and started to bark and fight with all the reflections. It fought till it got completely exhausted and in frustration left the room. This illustration is not meant to promote egocentric behaviour : ) but illustrates that if we are able to see ourselves in the people around us - then life becomes very joyful; while if we (like the dog) see others as different from us then all our lives are spent fighting for our little turf and finally we exit (die) in frustration. jay Vivekananda Centre London
