Guest guest
Dear Jagannath: In a recent post you wrote that cerbrospinal fluid (CSF) is a component of semen. I found this very intriguing, and an excellent "physical" rationale for celibacy. But, I had my doubts, so I sent off an inquiry to an endocrinologist at allexperts.com. Here was his response: "Hi Brad: No, that is not correct. CSF is not produced in the testis. Many body fluids have similarities, but CSF is not in semen. Dr. G." However, your (and jay's) discussion of subtle/spiritual energy being dissipated through the sex act (which includes the discharge of semen - and its counterpart in the subtle body) is an excellent explanation of and rationale for celibacy. Guest guest
Dear Brad, This answer was quite expected. But you see, in real life we find patients with increased libido suffering from various spinal problems such as spinal irritation, lower back pain, stiffness in the neck, extreme weakness after the act and a general weakness. They also suffer from irritation, confusion, lack of concentration and a weak memory. Many also suffer from acute depression and a strange form of shyness. There is also a reduced strength of natural immunity leading to frequent coughs and colds, headaches, sinus problems etc. These symptoms cannot be wished away. I suggest you go to www.homeopathyhome.com and put the same question to eminent homeopaths through the bulletin board. I have suggested Jay to do the same. You can also try ayurvedic sites for more info on the matter. Please let us know the outcome. At the Ramakrishna Mission, Bhubaneswar, after I have discussed the subject with Swami Priyarupanandaji, we are trying to hold a general seminar on celibacy and purity. We are planning to invite an eminent psychiatrist, a homeopath and also an ayurvedic practitioner to participate. This is being planned for the national youth day celebrations. The topic will be disguised a bit so that students (both boys and girls) do not hesitate to participate. As lack of purity and celibacy is one of the main causes of stress among youth we have decided to name the topic " Present Youth - How can You Manage Stress? " As a build up to the event we are holding a seminar on a similiar subject on 27th Dec as part of our monthly youth debate. A psychiatrist will be participating as the chief speaker. I will post the outcome of the debate on this list. The list can send their views to Swami Priyarupanandaji at rkmbbsr@sancharnet,in. We will be very happy if you all send your suggestions and suggest means to make the event more practical and useful. We will try and post the more constructive views on our notice board. Of couse Swami Priyarupanandaji will have the final say on the matter.
