Guest guest
Sri Ramakrishna Charanam Saranam; Sri Sri Ma "Hereafter, the work of all institutions and the life of all nations will be moulded in Ramakrishna fashion. Politics and Government and all such things will have to pass through that mould, viz; Ramakrishna. I may not live to see all those wonderful happenings. The next generation will see it. The power of Ramakrishna is now in its infancy, just beginning to spread. That mighty power will take years to fully manifest itself and to envelop the world. All things will be pervaded, devoured by it. The effulgence of Sri Ramakrishna will permeate everything. There will be no Ramakrishna or Religion of Ramakrishna. There is no question of sectarianism at all. His spirit will be accepted by all" This prophetic statement uttered by Swami Nirmalananda (Tulsi Maharaj) about eight decades ago, seems to start coming true as an urgent need of the age and every nation's policy makers are in a hurry to include the soothing message of the Prophet of religious harmony in their charters; of course, without mentioning His Name. Today is the 141st birth anniversary of Swami Nirmalananda (1863 - 1938), one of the brilliant Apostles of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna. He (Tulsi Charan Dutta) met Sri Ramakrishna for the first time in late 1881 or early 1882 at Balaram Mandir in Calcutta. He was one of the very few disciples of Sri Ramakrishna, who received a rare form of blessing at the first glance of the Master. It is recorded that the Great Master just aroused young Tulasi's Kundalini (latent Spiritual Power) by a mere Glance!!! Let us remember Tulsi Maharaj on this joyous occasion of his birthday. Guest guest
Dear Sri Prakash Kamanat: Thank you very much for reminding us about revered Tulsi-Maharaj-ji. But, pardon me, I have my own doubt whether he can really be considered as "one of the brilliant Apostles of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna" himself. We have sixteen direct monastic disciples of Thakur. Does he figure in that list ? It is true that "He (Tulsi Charan Dutta) met Sri Ramakrishna for the first time in late 1881 or early 1882 at Balaram Mandir in Calcutta", but that does not necessarily mean that "He was one of the very few disciples of Sri Ramakrishna". Some believe that he was the disciple of Swamiji. This points require clarification perhaps. Experts may please comment. Is it also true that he played somewhat different role during the later part of his life (when he was in-charge of Bangalore Ashrama) ? Swami Budhananda-ji has alluded about this in his book. This also requires clarification in the interest of history. Any comment ? Regards TP Bagchi - P. S.
