Few interesting questions

We have had quite a few interesting questions on the list.

Let me share my thoughts on some of the issues:-

(1) Role of Swami Nirmalanandji - if he is to be considered to be one

of the closest or not so closest disciple of Sri Ramakrishna? is a matter

for Sri Ramakrishna to decide. : )

(2) Manu Smriti - is comes with a health warning. It comes with

a 'sell by date' -- I do not think even 5 percent of modern Hindus

follow 5percent of the prescriptions set out in the Manu smriti.

(3) Covering the head in temples? - most religions consider this

to be a sign of 'submission' to God. Hence it becomes a sign of respect.

(4) When does a soul enter a body? - I am sure this topic may have

a variety of scriptural response. My understanding would be that

it is just at the time of conception a new soul enters the womb.

My reason is the unique Biological process that follows conception.

Gestrulation...... this process defies (so far) normal biological

explanation. One cell divides into identical two and yet these two

cells somehow know that they have different functions. This is one

of the very puzzling aspects - two identical cells with identical genes

somehow 'know' that they have to carry out different functions.

All explanations so far are 'non-digital' and that will not do. Hence

modern biology still wrestles with this feature. We would suggest

that the reason for this division is 'metaphysical'. - A soul deciding

to take rebirth.
