Guest guest
Today, my children now both being adult, I declined to go with them and my wife to spend a traditional Christmas Day with relatives and opted to stay at home on my own. I am spending the day in silent meditation and devotion interspersed with readings from the new Volume 2 of the Ramakrishna Kathamrita translation (and an occasional peek at my email.......). I shall shortly cook and eat my meal for the day, a vegetarian stew washed down with an excellent quality of tap water, before returning to the Kathamrita, the Divine Mother and my brow chakra. No noise, no pop music, no smell of cooking meat, no alcohol, no tobacco, no family arguments, no television, no Santa Claus, no Queen’s speech, no computer shoot-em-ups, no aggressive videos and CD/DVDs, no mobile phones ringing, no foul language...................... just utter bliss! This Christmas I say a big thank you to Thakur for giving me a glimpse of true nirvana (-: God bless all (especially those suffering from the excesses of Christmas!) Guest guest
Dear Alan, That was simply a great decision you took. Hope you enjoyed your day. Unfortunately most Indians did just the opposite on Christmas day preferring the party's and all to quiet contemplation. Regards Jagannath. Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
