Guest guest
Dear Ones...My husband follows a guru who states that Jesus came only for the disciples of his time and is no longer of any practical use to us spiritually at this time. They also say that he was only a third plane guru and was not able to take his initiates all the way back to the highest plane. I was on this path for almost 20 years, but I just cannot believe these teachings about Jesus. What does Ramakrishna teach about Jesus? Ideas that he cannot help at this time or that he belongs to some kind of third (lower) plane etc... do not do justice to him. You and your husband should ignore all such comments and continue to love and adore Jesus with all your heart. jay

Katie Dear Devotee, In The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna (Abridged Edition - Translated into English by Swami Nikhilananda) some excerpts starting on page 299. Sri Ramakrishna to several devotees "The Brahmos insist that God is formless. What if they do? It is enough to call on Him with sincereity of heart. If the devotee is sincere, then God, who is the Inner Guide of all, will certainly reveal to the devotee His true nature. But it is not good to say that what we ourselves think of God is the only truth and what others think is false; that because we think of God as formless, therefore He is formless and cannot have any form; that because we think of God as having form, therefore He has form and cannot be formless. Can a man really fathom God's nature? . . . He who is called Krishna is also Siva and the Primal Sakti, and that it is He, again, who is called Jesus and Allah." Guest guest
If you have some time, you may want to read the book - " Sermon on the Mount " by Swami Prabhavananda. It is 127 pages long, for 10 dollars, and can be purchased from www.vedanta.com --- " Katie <squeakpal " <squeakpal wrote: > Dear Ones...My husband follows a guru who states > that Jesus came only > for the disciples of his time and is no longer of > any practical use > to us spiritually at this time. Guest guest
Dear Katie Dont you ever believe anybody who shakes your faith in your chosen God. Sri Ramakrishna in fact encouraged a devotee to follow his chosen path with full dedication and vigour and would never fault any of the infinite ways to reach the Lord. Swami Vivekananda in his speech at the World Parliament of Religions recited a sanskrit verse from a celebrated hymn which said that like all rivers following their different paths merge in the one ocean so is the case with all the paths that ultimetely laed to theone Lord. Why Jesus whom even Sri Ramakrishna adored he made the lord manifest from non living objects and images. Once you have sincere faith it is God who guides and corrects your activities. Also the Bhagvad Gita is claer that in whatever way men choose to approch the Lord is reciprocated by the Lord in full measure. So just proceed on your path. God bless you. Kind regards Dev Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now
Guest guest
Dear Ms. Katie: I think your husband has raised a very honest question. I am, however, not competent enough to comment on this from my side. But, I would strongly recommend the following thought-provoking article and book--- 1. Swami Ranganathananda : The Christ we adore (vide "Eternal Values for a Changing Society", vol.II, Great Spiritual Teachers, page: 57-80), 2. Claude Alan Stark: God of All (Sri Ramakrishna's Approach to Religious Plurality).
