Good clear scanned photo of Sw Vivekananda needed

Dear List

I am looking for a very clear photo (in the electronic format)

of Swami Vivekananda for a book being published.

If you have anything available; or if you are able to scan and email me

a good sharp and well focused photo of Swamiji

The image they are keen to use is the one of Swami Vivekananda

n a meditation pose - London, 1896

<V-01.jpg>>

So, if you have that one as a high resolution image (minimum 300 dpi) I'd be

very grateful if you could send it to me. I'm happy to wait.

Hi -

If you get any reasonably low resolution image then

also you can increase the DPI in any standard image

editing / publishing software like Adobe Photoshop.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

As far as I know, that would just make a bigger file size, not a better

image. You can't restore detail (resolution) just by adding more dots. If

the detail data is gone, it's gone. It's best to start with a high

resolution image.

It's true information can't be created to make it high

resolution however dispersing noise through out the

neighboring pixels as well as creating more pixels

with isotropic pixels(with good information) images

can be blown up without compensating resolution.

Some good imaging software can do the trick. I will

post a few images using various filters which I wrote

time to time.

Hi Shivram -

I never said by increasing DPI you can make bad image

look good. By increasing the DPI you actually fill

some raw data to increase image size in some

percentage for printing purpose. I also insisted

" reasonably " . Hope this helps.

Dont want to start a war here though :-)
