A DREAM AND MY DREAM PROJECT OF " VIVEKANANDA " FILM: 1

by Girish Parikh

I would like to share with you a dream that I had on

March 9, 2003 night. (When my eyes opened, it was

about

4:30 a.m., Monday, March 10.)

In the evening of March 9, I had emotionally repeated

a few times in my mind: " Gurudeve kripa karo din

jane, " (O divine Guru, bestow your grace upon this

poor soul), and " Guru kripa hee kevalam " (Only the

grace of the Guru is all.) (I have given free

translations.)

In fact, I had attended Maha Shivaratri celebration at

Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Chicago, on Saturday, March

1. At the end of the puja (worship), etc., " Guru Kripa

hee kevalam " was chanted by the devotees. The puja,

etc. was conducted by Swami Purnatmanandaji.

[i also attended Sri Ramakrishna Puja at the

Vivekananda Vedanta Society, Chicago, on Saturday,

March 8. It was conducted by swami Chidananda.]

Now the dream:

I saw Swami Purnatmanandaji. He had written in long

hand some dramatic work on some religious topic, and

wanted to show it to me. I just saw some lines on the

front page written in red.

Then I saw Steven Spielberg standing. (I didn't see

Swamiji at that time, I saw only Steve. It was

only he and me.)

Steve mentioned to me informally that he wanted to do

some documentaries. I mentioned to him that I was a

freelance writer, and we started talking. It was open

ground and we were standing and talking.

Engrossed in the talk, Steve started walking

backwards. I saw a ditch behind him. As I remember, I

made some gesture. He looked behind and saw the ditch.

But he was absorbed in our talk, and stood quietly

near the ditch. I almost ordered him, " Come this

side. " And he slowly moved away from the ditch.

My eyes then opened, I left the bed, and checked the

clock in the nearby meditation room. It was 4:35 a.m.

Then I remained in the bed, but couldn't sleep.

P.S. Among the things I did on March 10, the most

important are: 1. I E-mailed the dream to Jay of

Vivekananda Vedanta Centre, London; and 2. I applied

for the membership in the group

thestevenspielbergfanclub.com.

Will a perfect guru or an Jungian psychologist

volunteer to interpret my dream?

What the dream has to do with my dream project of

VIVEKANANDA film? God willing I'll try to answer that

question in Part 2 of this piece.
