Guest guest
Mythological stories sometimes give us an insight into the realm of the spirit. Let us look at the story of Prahalad. The cruel father tried to kill the boy by throwing him in fire, trying to drown him in deep waters, throwing him off a cliff and so on. The boy remained unscathed. The story can be seen in a different light when we analyse what a spiritual experience involves. When one sees the whole world as 'Brahman' then nothing can harm. Everything one experiences is of the nature of bliss (priya). Absolutely everything takes on the form of priya - how can there be any rough edges to priya?...All becomes blissful. Every aspect of our experience is bliss laid on top of bliss. In the story of Prahalad how can fire hurt or water drown? They had taken on the hue of the Lord himself. Harm? How can anything harm a person in God consciousness?
