Guest guest
As far as I know it is a science . And its calculations are purely mathematics. Jyothisham is one of the six Vedangas.Jyothisham includes Ganitham + Kalakriya + Golam + Jatakam + Muhurtham + Prasnam + Nimiththam. Moreover stars have very good influence over our body and it is proved. In Ramayana and Mahabharata also we can see the use of astronomy as well as astrology. People lost faith in Astrology, because lot of astrologers who doesn't know anything about astrology has started predicting things just for money .But still good astrologers are there. We can say Astologers are like doctors. Only a good doctor can trace out/cure the disease. Like that Only a good astrolger can predict things correctly. We won't blame medical science, when the doctors make mistakes. But we blindly blame astrology when predictions goes wrong or when an astrologer makes mistakes. Predictions are mainly depend on time of birth. A minute change in the time can affect one's jatakam. For example if u consider the case of twins, the characters of the two will be entirely different, though their time of birth is more or less same.So time is the main factor. Planets are always moving. Jataka is written based on the position of planets at the time of birth and the place of birth(altitude and latitude). All the calculations are done based on this time and the place of birth. If time goes wrong then the entire jataka goes wrong. Some other constraints are also there. If we look at some jatakas there won't be any similarity between the person and his jataka. This is due to the error in the time of birth or due to the inability of the astrologer. The same is applicable to marriage. Couples wo had married with Good poruththam may get parted very soon after the marriage. This is because Poruththam is there between the Jatakas. But Jatakas doesn't belong to that particular person(When time of birth changes the jataka Bhalam also chages accordingly). This is my view. There may be mistakes. But One thing is sure. Jyothisham is not supersitious. I couldn't consult Dr. GopalaKrishnan reg this. Anyway I'll get back to u with more details. The topic of Astrology always baffles me. Sometimes they turn out to be very true. Is that pure coincidence although that seems to be unbelievable? One holy man said, " Astrology is like weather forecast. It has its own probability of occurence. " Also Holy Mother usually used to refer almanac for travelling and auspicious events like pooja etc... Now she was Divine Mother Herself, then what was the necessity for her? If she was merely setting an example for us, then are we ought to believe and lead our lives based on astrology. Regards,Srikanth > Catch all the cricket action.
