Guest guest
Hello every one! I am new to this group and I am enjoying it for being a member of this group. Could any one help me to answer a question? How can we love God? Thanks. Sanjiv.Vivekananda Centre <vivekananda wrote: Eat from my own plate. We may smile at such antics, but if we think carefully we discover that we too are stuck with the same dilemma. We like to view this world from our own little perspectives. We must use our own little minds, our own little intellects to try to make sense of this world. What else can we do? And we are pretty stubborn. If someone says there are larger plates in the house that can hold greater variety of food, we will not listen, we must have our own little plates to eat from : ) jay Sri Ramakrishnaye NamahVivekananda Centre Londonhttp://www.vivekananda.co.uk
Guest guest
Hi everybody, I believe, loving God means loving oneself, respecting oneself, loving people and especially one should try not to hurt others. Guest guest
Dear Friend, You wrote: Could any one help me to answer a question? How can we love God? My answer is that one cannot love what one does not know. Until the dawn of realization one can only love one's " notions " about God. So practice something so that you can know God, and then you can love. regards michael The New Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo. http://search. Guest guest
The answer that we get from the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and Swamiji is that we should serve Him in man. In other words serving one and all without regard to their caste, race, religion or country without expecting anything in return is the way of loving God. Guest guest
It come to my mind Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna's own answer on this topic to " Master Mahasay " in Kathamrita (Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna ) as follows: M. — How may one fix one's mind on the Lord? Sri Ramakrishna — One must chant without ceasing the name of the Lord and His glories. And keep company of the holy one must frequently go to God's bhaktas, or sadhus. One's mind does not fix itself on the Lord while living night and day in the midst of worldly activities and family life. Hence, one must go into solitude now and then to meditate on God. In the first stage it is very hard to fix the mind on the Lord unless one frequently goes into solitude. " When the plant is young, it needs a hedge around it. Without the hedge goats and cows eat it up. " The mind, the solitary corner and the forest are the places where you will meditate. And you will always have good thoughts in your mind. The Lord alone is real, i.e. the eternal substance, and all else is unreal, i.e. transitory. Discriminating thus, you will shake off attachment to the perishable things of the world. Guest guest
Namaste, Only three conditions need be present: 1. Nothing can exist without presence of God/Spirit. 2. Nothing exists out of which one does not love at least something. 3. Firm conviction that loving God is only an extension of that love for something, to love for everything that exists. [This was Thakur's advice to many who asked hm this question.] Regards, Sunder Ramakrishna , umeshgulati@a... wrote: > The answer that we get from the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and Swamiji is > that we should serve Him in man. Guest guest
Jai Shri Ramakrishna Devotion to God also comes only through HIS grace. Thakur used to say that if once one tasted it, one would not care for anything else. When we pray to Him, out of His kindness and grace, devotion to Him will come.
