Guest guest
Last night we celebrated an 'Evening of Interfaith Music' at the London Interfaith Centre. The venue was filled to capacity. Eight faiths made short presentations of devotional and classical music from their traditions. The event was an overwhelming success, prompting BIF to announce, at short notice a date for a similar event next year. Many dialogues take place under the heading of Interfaith but the advantage of Interfaith through Music was clearly evident yesterday. Everyone left the auditorium feeling spiritually uplifted. It was easy to see how music has the ability to transcend cultural and spiritual boundaries. One gets a glimpse and appreciation of how others are inspired and drawn by their religions. The validity of other faiths becomes highly visible and was experienced by all. For a moment we abandon our limited framework of dogmas and catch a glimpse of the ultimate through the eyes of others. Our spiritual horizons broaden.
