Guest guest Posted June 30, 2003 Report Share Posted June 30, 2003 Yes Kundalini can be aroused artifically by following regularly certain kinds of pranayama exercises (which involve breath retention) and also some other raja yoga techniques. But its only recommended that people practise it under the guidance of a genuine spiritual perceptor. Purity, contenment, devotion to god must be cultivated even if you are to practise these techniques. Primary and most important is practising continence. There have been horrible physical side effects if you try to awaken the kundalini without purification ( it could manifest as derangement , burning sensations , excessive lust etc). Practise devotion, discrimination and meditation. If you want to awaken kundalini faster then do the above. Remember you are trying to reach God or reach the sahasra, in the process all the dross accumulated for millions of years has to cleared off to achieve that blissful state. There is no short cut..renunciation of lust and gold must be present to a great degree to practise artificial awakening of the kundalini. Best is to love God for his own sake, what need do we have to do with Kundalini. If it awakens well and good otherwise what is the use of awakening without love and devotion to God!!
