It appears however, that this comes from the fact that He concentrated a great deal of his earlier years in the study of Christianity and Islam. He possibly studied others as well. I suggest a book which I recently purchased (though I have not begun yet) by Paul Hourihan entitled Ramakrishna and Christ: the supermystics. "It embodies three central ideas, which we are realizing in our own age: the universality of religious truth; the indwelling divinity in all mankind; and the special divine nature of woman. Unlike his peers, such as Christ and Buddha, we have unprecedented documentation and photographs of the man himself." "Ramakrishna's life enables us to see God face to face."-Mahatma Ghandi There are many books today which question the very existence of an historical Jesus, the canon of the church and now, there appears to be an alternate Christianity ( Read: Holy Blood, Holy Grail). Or, if you prefer novels, read the bestseller "The DaVinci Code".
