Guest guest
There is an unusual story of a woman who was searching for her lost needle. She searched frantically for it. She went out onto the street and started the search. Someone asked her what was she looking for. She said her needle was lost. " Where did you lose it? " , asked the person. " Oh, I lost it in the house " , said the woman. " But then why are you searching for it out here? " asked the person. " Oh, because it is too dark in the house while the street is well lit " , replied the woman : ) We may smile, but this story reflects our dilemma too. We too have lost something that lies within. Yet, we want to search for it in the outer world. In the world of name, fame, wealth and possessions we are searching for bliss. It belongs to and lies within but we want to search for it outside. As that seems so much easier : ) jay
Guest guest
DEAR ALL, many of us would have listened to the Ramakrishan Arathrikam Cassettee containing the Aarthi song and others played at RKM centres during evenng aarthi. the pinnacle of the cassette, in my view, is the last Ramakrishna Stotram by Swamiji, perhaps penned in a fleeting moment of inspiration or planned earleir. It starts as 'Aaa Chandala...' i wish to know from any of you, the verbatim exact words ofthe full song as well as its meaning in english. moreover, if soemone can tell as to when Swamiji penned it, it would be nice. also, i am keen to knwo who sang the opening two stanza in asilent mode since the rendering is so moving and exhilarating. looking upto all details. thanks. jay ramakrishna dev ki, Chellamani --- Vivekananda Centre <vivekananda wrote: > There is an unusual story of a woman who was > searching for her > lost needle. Guest guest
Namaste, The Hymn to to Sri Ramakrishna is at URL: http://www.ramakrishnavivekananda.info/vivekananda/volume_8/vol_8_fram e.htm [The URL may need to be typed or pasted in full]. He composed this in Nov. 1898 at Belur Math. The cassette mentions 8 singers, but no individual credits for the hymns, after discoursing fluently in Sanskrit for 2 hours without a break (recorded by his disciple, Saratchandra Chakravarty). He then asked another disciple to check it over for 'metrical defects'!
