Sri Sarada Math is the independent monastic women's organisation of

the Ramakrishna Order. It is founded on the twin ideals of individual

liberation and service to mankind. It is based on the Vedanta

philosophy taught by Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami

Vivekananda. The propagation of Indian religions and culture as

relevant in modern times is an essential part of service of mankind.

For this purpose, apart from lectures and scriptural classes at

various centres, we publish books and journals.

 

Samvit is the semi-annual English journal of Sri Sarada Math,

published in March and September. Samvit means knowledge of all kinds

from information to consciousness, awareness and the highest knowledge

leading to self-enlightenment. As the name implies, it encompasses a

broad range of spiritual reading:

v Contains articles by scholars of international repute on all major

aspects of Indian religions, philosophy, science, education, social

issues, history and culture.

v Contains inspiring stories and biographical sketches of saints of

India and other countries.

v Provides invaluable reference material for seekers of God as well as

educational, religious and spiritual institutions in India and abroad.
