Revered Swamijis and fellow-devotees and friends of Singapore Ramakrishna Mission,

 

<snip> yet another important mile-stone for all of us to remember today. It was on 9th August in 1928 that Srimat Swami Adyanandaji Maharaj inaugurated the RAMAKRISHNA MISSION in Singapore as a fully affiliated Branch Centre of the Belur Math. So, today, we are passing through a very important mile-stone in the history of our Ramakrishna Mission's existence in Singapore. Today is the joyous 75th Anniversary of the Ramakrishna Mission, Singapore.

 

Let us (the devotees of Singapore) celebrate this solemn occasion quietly by dedicating ourselves individually to the lofty principles for which our THAKUR BHAGAVAN SRI RAMAKRISHNA, Our Ma Sarada Devi, our beloved leader Swamiji (Swami Vivekananda) and other SIXTEEN monastic Apostles came to the world for the good of the whole humanity. Let us dedicate ourselves, every one of us, to become a Ramakrishna Missionary in our rest of our life-time. When we become a Ramakrishna Missionary, we will encourage Hindus to become better Hindus, Buddhists to become better Buddhists, Christians to become better Christians, and Muslims to become better Muslims and so on and finally every individual to become a better person. A Ramakrishna Missionary will never condemn other religions and will never create disharmony in our personal and national lives.

 

Thakur taught us clearly that the aim of all religions is to realize God. This is the basis of Hinduism also. He wanted us to LOVE and dedicate our lives to KNOW GOD. He declared that GOD is present everywhere and in every living beings. He taught us the most exalted truth that SERVING all LIVING BEINGS around us is the most auspicious and sacred worship of God.

 

Our Ma taught us to consider all Human beings and even other beings as OUR OWN. She emphatically told us that none is a stranger to us here. Our sweet Mother commanded us to refrain from finding fault with others. She also taught us to look upon the picture of Thakur not as a mere piece of paper. She assures that whenever we pray in front of Thakur's picture, He listens !!! He answers our prayers !!!

 

Our Swamiji (Swami Vivekananda) extolled the divinity potentially existing in all human beings. Swamiji declared charecteristically like one of the greatest Rishis of all ages, "Each man is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature, external and internal. Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy - by one or more or all of these - and be free. This is the whole of religion".
