Guest guest
Following message came from Dhananjay. May we remind the list members that when responding they delete the long tail end of the earlier message. jay ================================================ Dear Amba and Jagannath, I think that Amba answered the nice question that she asked in her last mail. According to my interpretation of the excerpts that she wrote in the first mail, I think that both Matthew 18:21,22 and The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna convey same message. There is little subtlety in first then the later. Both (according to my interpretation) guides us to not to take the person and his deeds personally. If we do so only then we feel hurt. if one is always good to others then there is no reason for which someone should hurt him/her. but even then such thing happens then the person who is hurting has his own psychological troubles which makes him do such things. if one looks at the problem from this aspect then one would pity on the person rather than resenting on him. for example, even after looking at the need of Jagannath the person couldnot give up his petty desires. then one would rather feel sorry for him, that he has such an intense desires for such paltry things. (here i am assuming that there was no medical necessity for him to do so) experiancing at the problem again and again one naturally overcomes the pain in the problem and then is able to see it in a raw form. may be this way used in Matthew 18:21,22. it encourages one to learn, this very important thing, from ones experiances or realizations to oneself. the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna also tells us the same way. there is one more additional thing explicitly told there is to " saluting them from afar " . this is applicable if the person is hurting you in a way by which your existance is in danger. kindly pardon me for my limited vision which i have put forth in the reply to the question asked. take care, dhananjay. <snip>
