Guest guest
Dear List, " They also serve, who sit and watch " said Milton once. I am a patient appriciator of the entire activities of the list. I would like to know the " Titi " of the day on which Swamiji gave his first lecture in Chicago on 11th of September 1893. Expecting your favourable reply. G.Krishnaswamy Co-ordinator Jodhpur Branch Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari

This works out at Sept. 11th being the dvitIyA or 2nd day of the bright half of the lunar month (shukla paksha). The month was most likely Bhadrapada, as Ganesha Chaturthi generally comes at this time. http://www.est-direct.com/china/feasts_year_1893_lang_en.php Mid-Autumn Festival Sunday, September 24, 1893 Everyone observes the exceptional Full Moon on the Sky in the summer night. Guest guest
Dear Shri. Sunder, Namate. Thankyou very much for the valuable information provided and the correction effected in my quote (Reg. Milton). As per the information the titi was on 28th of August. Vivekananda Kendra with nearly 170 branches over Bharat is greatful for the information. It would be helpful for our branch centers in celebrating the day if they prefer titi to date. Pranams.
