Guest guest
When we do something good there is an inner voice which appreciate us for the good work. Similarly before doing anything wrong the same inner voice strongly scold and prevent us for taking that action. Generally termed as the " Voice of Conscience " . Could the honorable list members throw some light on this matter that what actually is this and where it forms i.e. if the mind guide us or something else. Regards …Charan Das. Guest guest
Dear Charan Das: The prophet Isaiah tells us it is the voice of God: " Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.' " (Isaiah 30:21). Jai Ramakrishna Brad
Guest guest
Dear Brad/Charan, Sri Ramakrishna refers to a purified state when the mind becomes the Guru and tells one what to do and what not to do. To be aware of this voice of conscience is itself a great achievement . But Sri Ramakrishna also tells us that if we stop listening to this voice then one day it stops. To tell you very frankly Brad, each time I go against my conscience the fear grips me that it may stop. Let us all pray for each other in this path that our conscience may continue to rule our conduct. Sincerely, Jagannath.
