Guest guest
The story of Sister Nivedita is so exciting that I cannot resist writing my thoughts about how a radio documentary (which can serve as a model) can be created on her life. 1. It should be based on through research and interviews of selected persons. 2. It should be a work of art and not merely a propaganda piece. (I am sure Sister Nivedita would like it this way!) 3. Being a radio documentary of about one hour, it will present selected highlights from the Sister's life. One of the most interesting topics will be her relationship with Swami Vivekananda. 4. Brief info about some of the important developments in the name of Sister Nivedita should also be mentioned. 5. The discussion of the role of the Sister in the fight for independence of India will be exciting. Why she had to leave Ramakrishna Order? This controversial topic should be covered truthfully. 6. Background music (both Western and Indian classical) as appropriate can enhance the appeal of the documentary. I urge BBC Radio 4 to redo the documentary on Sister Nivedita with the help of the members of the " Ramakrishna " . God willing it can be a great success and can even serve as a model for future documentaries on such subjects. --Girish
