Guest guest
Dear friends, Greetings. I have been following closely the conversation in response to Saurav pointing a doubt and making a statement that Swamiji was egotist. I must admit that I am farely open minded in accepting criticism. But this one proved too baseless for me. Some people are offering the context of " I " Swamiji uses so much. I just urge Sourav to read Swamiji more to understand how humble he was and how devoid of Ego he could be. Examples: He mentions that " If ever a good word has escaped my mouth, it is by the power of my Guru, and if ever a bad word cast out my mouth, I am responsbile for that " . He mentions himself as " Tasyo Dasodawsoham " - I am the servant of His servants. Also in the recollection and lives of his direct disciples I see, Swami Bodhananda meeting Him in Calcutta after he is back from his US triumph. He asked him why there is no printed material of whatever Swamiji spoke about Sri Ramakrishna. Swamiji ansewered that he himself is in no position and does not qualify to describe Sri Ramakrishna and lest it creates any misconception, he himself stopped publishing those. Swami Bodhananda was spellbound with his humility. What else can we say? See the last days of Swamiji, preaching like a Mother's child. The whole point of " I " arises from the Vedantic concept of " So - aham " arising the greates lurking potential in human being. It does not boost ego but opens the doors of spiritual path. Guest guest
Dear Members, I really wonder whther the " I " s refered to by Shri. Saurav could be indications of egotism. If it is taken so the very word " Guru " also will become meaningless. " If we are all children of immortal bliss who is higher and who is lower. How can one Brahman teach the other brahman " etc., would become the corrolaries of such doubts. I feel swamiji has touched a position where the I conscience does not percolate into him at all. For that matter even Thakur had once said to Swamiji " I will hold the key for your Samadhi " . It does not mean that Thakur was an egotist. " I " is a weapon. In the right hands it works as a Guru, and in the bad hands it harms both the holder and the environment. I leave it Shri. Saurav to decided whether he considers Swamiji as competent enough to handle this weapon. Pranams. G.Krishnaswamy. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
