Guest guest
This message came to the list from Anup Lahiry. We had to edit out the full string of earlier digest messages (about 10Kb). May we remind our list members to ensure that tail end messages are not re-posted to the list. jay Vivekananda Centre London - " anup lahiry " <alahiry <Ramakrishna > Saturday, October 11, 2003 04:37 Re: [sri Ramakrishna] Digest Number 1601 It is quite interesting to read different views on animal sacrifice. It is obvious we see things differently depending upon the color of the perception glass we are wearing. We can argue for or against a view in a very scholarly fashion depending upon our mental capacity. But arguments don't make things right or wrong.(People did argue for " Sati- pratha " claiming its legitimacy from scripture.) Either they are, or they are not. I do not have that knowledge or wisdom to make the call. Certain things come to mind. If we are all manifestation of the Devinne self, then who is sacrificing who, who is eating who, who is killing who?( sounds more like Abott and Costello). But then our scripture does talk about being good to others separating self from others. Does " Ahinsa " mean we should all be vegetarian? I find myself being a hypocrite when I say " I can not hurt any living thing " but then enjoy a chicken curry. Well I did not kill the chicken for sure, but enjoying the result of that kill. Can any enlightened soul help my dilemma With respect to all Anup Lahiry
Guest guest
Dear Readers, If the " jagat samsara " is " Visnumaya " , then things are just happening by divine guidance. We are all sacreficial living beings on earth, helpless individuals, or " Atmans " . Doing our " Karma " in this cosmical " KARMA KANDA " with the divine initiative. Right or Wrong, we really can not tell .. we must settle our worldly differences through " LOVE " and " VICHARA " (meaning enquiry here). There is no rigidity in the kingdom of GOD, no set rules that everyone has to follow, one set of activities may sound like a good idea to follow, but the same thing may not be appropriate to another group and so on. Let us all play our parts individually in this huge " KARMAKANDA " and let things follow by the divine intervention. Doing good always mean doing bad simultaneously. " Mayamaya " " samsara " is full of duality which we can not escape! Essence is to stay " SADAHASYA " and " SADASIVA " and enjoy " PARAMANANDA ISWARA " . I would love to hear your comments, dear readers. Namo Namaha. Asis Bagchi The New with improved product search
