Guest guest
Dear Mr Moorthy, You must have read in the Kathamrita about Sri M and Thakur having a discussion on this same subject. Sri M expressed his opinion that mud images should not be worshipped. Thakur rebuked him and said that not the mud image but the image of consciousness (chinmaya murti) was actually worshipped. Similiarly if we think of our Guruji as a mere human being we will not be liberated. But we have been taught that "Guru Brahma, Gurur Vishnu.....". Therefore the Guru should be worshipped as God himself. Certainly Swamiji meant this. During our puja we should contemplate on the Guru and then imagine his image to merge with the Ishta. That way we will be worshipping our Guru as God. Regards, Jagannath. Protect your identity with Mail AddressGuard
