Guest guest
Hi, I just want to thank the person who answered this question.I happened to go to india last summer and went on a piligrimage to mathura, haridwar, rishikesh, pushkar etc. I somehow didnt feel devotional in the whole tour and in fact i felt more happy when i visited a local shrine at my native place, nizamabad.I was wondering why this happened the other day and i saw this message. I understood that my mind was not focussed on god and instead was focussed on making this tour successful with little effort. Whereever i went i wanted to get instant darshan and i paid more money for that..I wanted to see god quickly and get out of that place.I should have spent more time in enjoying the wait for darshan and reciting the lelas of god.Temples have been converted into business centers.Instant darshan for 100Rs, reduced queue for 20Rs.At times,we even resort to corruption to make our joruney less cumbersome. So, if we are doing all this, is our journey worth it??Cant we just stay in our home?? I think the best way to tackle this is to forego the luxuries in piligrimage. For example, i will go in a free darshan even if i can go by a 100Rs darshan..I know its difficult to achieve but we should atleast give it a shot. May be our tour should not be as packed as we make it..I visited a lot of places in my north india tour and it was just impossible for me to stay for more than 3 hours at any place... Anyways,I think i have digressed a lot. However, i would like to know the experiences of others during a piligrimage and what they do to retain their focus on god.
