Caste and Religion

Caste and Religion are two words for a same thing. For

a child who is born in a family his religion as well

as caste is attached to it. There is no choice for him

to but accept that. All the definition of religion is

also applicable to caste system also. In religion the

child is made to grow according to the social

practices so it is with caste. This is an anamoly in

the evolution of mankind. It is a fact of life too. If

one accepts a religion for the reason that he is born

of a parents which follow a certain religion what is

so wrong with the casteism? It is only after the time

a human is grown enough spiritually and mentally that

he would be able to differentiate between the lines of

caste and religion. Casteism can be a socialistic evil

but nevertheless an established norm amongst the human

beings, one which can be only used to propogate a

better awareness and derive acceptance of the truth

We were approached by the Managing Editor of

Hinduism Today to offer

our

input on the question of ' Hereditary Caste system'

a few days back.

We have emailed them offering our views on various

aspects and how we

cope with

the issue of 'Caste' in the field of Education in

the UK as well and

how this topic may

be handled in modern India. We are hoping that

Hinduism today will

incorporate our ideas

in the article they are preparing.

The magazine has also approached us for an article

they are composing

on how

Hindus portray Hinduism to the Non-Hindus.

If I were asked to describe in a few lines, to comment, to provide

reasons why Hinduism & Caste have such negative stereotypes, why

so-called lower castes are abandoning this great religion, I could do

not better than below.

This is such a load of BS, the equivocation, the shallow and unsound

reasons... this is pure crock.

A new-born baby is " attached " to the parents, the family.. not to a

caste. There is no choice to accept the familial ties, but accepting

caste is plain stupid. This is no anamoly, this is your pathetic

attempt to justify caste. Really! Please abandon those primitive and

obsolete logic and accept everyone as a human being, not categorized by

caste.
