Guest guest
I have been seeing some messages of late on whether eating meat is sin or not. I feel that it should be left to one's own discretion. If you do not eat meat, are u guaranteed that u will attain god? If you do eat meat, are u guaranteed to be in hell? NO. I mean unless u strive to attain god, eating meat or not eating meat is a trivia. Many people believe that fasting on ekadashi day is punya.Fasting on ekadashi day is punya if you direct your thoughts towards god not if you fast and watch a t.v. serial. I'm a vegeterian. But, that does not make me anything special or morally better. I have seen many people who eat MEAT and have much better lifes than me. The only reason im a vegeterian is that im instructed by my parents to be so. ===== We shall find that spheres GOD brings us into are not meant to teach us something but to make us something. Guest guest
Hi We will not take any form (human or other wise) only when we have nothing else to do. As long as there is a requirement for fulfilling the results of our actions we keep on taking births in various forms optimized to what needs to be fulfilled.(certainly not my ideas) If we prevent other life forms from fulfilling their results of actions we would end up with people like hitler who can justify the termination of other humans citing various intellectally corrupt reasons. As far as fasting on specific days is concerned: we have been forced to believe that such fasts help us reach god, so that we can cut down on the results of actions. In reality such religious impositions seem to be a clever way of helping the " not so discriminative " humans, to gradually reach a stage (may be after a few births) where that can decide with a good estimate of what could cause hinderances to their goal of reaching complete temination. If things are left to every bodies' discrimination, that day will not be far off when we will have hitlers every where with intellectually corrupt ideas. New Photos - easier uploading and sharing. Guest guest
Mr Ash i was going thro ur views i appreciate ur views about non veg etc etc But to b honest ,eating meat and not eating meat ......has nothing to do with attainment of god or any sort of happiness. Its just that many people believe that it breaks the Foodweb and cycle of the environment if we consume animals, as a long term consequence. U can definately go thro many books on jainism which has very strong scientific background secondly now people believe n science has prooved that non veg in many cases is not good for health, especially those barbiqued red meat which shows strong evidence of carcinogens, and meat itself potent source of bad cholesterol. may b these things were released long back by our ancestors too. In spiritualism it is said that it evokes a violence in u and desires. which in some sense is true especially a child daily sees animal slaughter, may b our ancestors noticed all this. moreover it is proved that human stomach is not meant , or u can say "designed" to consume certain substances present in the meat, as we cant digest cellulose in plants. i am just trying to say that there are many many studies both done by modern day scientists and our ancestors about this concept. i apologize if any comment of mine is hurting. thanks meenaAsh <ashgutala wrote: I have been seeing some messages of late on whethereating meat is sin or not.
