Dear Friends

 

Today we celebrate Swami Vivekananda's birthday. The best way to celebrate

is by emphasising what Swami Vivekananda stood for.

 

Invoking Strength. The source of our strength is our spiritual dimension. It is by

focusing on the fact that we are not the mind or the body but the Self - we invoke

the greatest strength.

 

The tools he would recommend we use are:

 

Buddhi. The best tool to invoke strength is the use of our rational faculties. If

in the name of religion we are offered ideas that defy our common sense then

we must move away from such ideas. Rationality and Religion are not at odds

or have never been at odds. (at some stage religion may ask us to transcend

rationality but that is not the same as accepting or adopting irrational views).

 

Brahmacharya: A tool a very few modern 'gurus' would dare promote.

At best these gurus would say 'as long as you are in a loving relationship with a partner

sex is fine' : ). Ramakrishna would say, "If you have to, then get married, have

one or two children and then quickly move on to a celibate lifestyle." Who wants to

listen to such an old fashioned message? Today the religion of Indians is not Hinduism;

it is called "Bollywood" - lust set to music. Best way for a nation to drool and fritter

away its strength.

 

Let us invoke these higher ideals of Bal, Buddhi and Brahamacharya in our nation.

Hello dearest devotees,

 

Jai Ramakrishna! Jai Sarada Mata! Jai Swami Vivekananda!

 

Here's wishing our beloved Swami a very Happy Birthday! (It's a cause

to celebrate for us all, isn't it?)

 

And as a youth I also wish everyone Happy National Youth Day!

 

Here is a startling but pleasant surprise for all of you -

 

Swami Vivekananda is very much alive and has manifested Himself at

Divine Park, Saligrama, Karnataka, India.

 

The story as it goes, there is this Doctor Chandrashekhara Udupa who

while studying for his MBBS developed intense love for our Swami and

after a rigorous sadhana(spiritual practice) succeeded in procuring

His vision! (This is all beautifully illustrated in the

autobiographical book " Race for Guruji's Grace " )Ever since, Swami

Vivekananda has been guiding him and others through him. The

aforesaid Divine Park is an institution which was set up in Jan

14,1986.

What will interest us all is that Swami Vivekananda delivers messages

through His devotee-this doctor in the latter's meditation which the

doctor then writes down and is published through magazines,etc.

 

I guess this will be enough for an introduction. All the details can

be had at their site- www.divinepark.org . The veracity of these

statements can be gauged by reading the messages of the E-Magazine at

this site. Sometimes,(hold your breath!) even Ramakrishna, Sarada Ma

and other Gods and Godesses give Their messages!

 

My only regret is not giving this information at the earliest but

there couldn't have been a more opportune time, can there be?!

 

My all be well and blissful. May all have His vision at the earliest!
