Guest guest
Its interesting if we ponder why 'sometimes' we have to suffer for our wrong karmas in our next lives. Obviously it would tough in my next life to understand why I am born handicapped or having great misfortune and out of no cause?! If we do not suffer for wrong doings immediately then how should one relate cause-effect in this world and thereby grow wiser ? But lets say everyone of us has excellent memory of all lives and full understanding of karma theory and all its calculations!!??, even then what is the gaurentee that we will not do bad actions ? Say if I hate somebody and harm him physically just because of my hatredness, say I turn him blind fully realising that I may be born blind in my next life? (just for example). If I fully realise this pain and have courage and am ready to live as a blind in my next life then I am still free to do such bad action in this life!? Then why should one only do good actions and not bad actions? Is it that may be God wants us to do good actions not out of the " desire " that we reap good results ? Is it also that He does not want us to stop doing bad actions out of " fear " from bad results ? Is it that God wants to show all this cause-effect,sin , virtue, karma theory etc etc all this is his - " leela " - " eternal play " - or " Maya " - which always confuses!? and so all its " calculations " does not matter much but what does matter is start doing those actions which lead to " self-realisation " or " God-realisation " , because once that happens our actions do not arise from " desire " or " fear " because then our heart is in eternal communion with Him. Whatever action we would do then would arise from that centre of our being where He resides, the centre which we call " Love " or " Atman " and so it is bound to be good for all beings as Bhagavat Gita says. Please drop your thoughts on this and help me understand!! Pranams, Sriram.
