THE " INNER CIRCLE " OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA

FOR THE NEW CENTURY: 1

I have been contemplating on the following vision,

among others, from some time:

 

The " Inner Circle " of Sri Ramakrishna can have 108

members, and one additional member will be the leader.

(The leader should be elected by the total 109

members.)

Each member should be deeply devoted to Sri

Ramakrishna, the Holy Mother, and Swami Vivekananda

(the Holy Trio), and must be trying his or her best to

follow their teachings. He or she may or may not be an

initiated disciple (of a physically living guru) or a

monk. The most important thing is the deep love and

devotion for the Holy Trio. It will be desirable to

have at least one and preferably more members who are

perfect.

When necessary, member(s) can be replaced, but total

number should remain 109 including the leader. Members

may be living anywhere in the world, but once in an

year they should try to get together. (Those who are

living nearby can of course get together often.) With

high tech advances such as Internet and Web sites, it

will be easy for the members to communicate regularly.

 

The " Inner Circle " can be semi-formal.

Swami Vivekananda said over 100 years ago that his

teachings will be good for 1500 years. As we know he

was spreading the message of his (and our) Master Sri

Ramakrishna. The " Inner Circle " of Sri Ramakrishna

will continue functioning for at least 1400 years.

What will the " Inner Circle " of Sri Ramakrishna do? I

will give some thoughts in the next column.
