THE " INNER CIRCLE " OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA

FOR THE NEW CENTURY

We pray to the Holy Trio to give peace to the departed

souls in the recent terrorist attack in Spain. We also

pray for the wounded; and the families, relatives, and

friends of the victims.

I have got responses from a few readers about the

" Inner Circle " . One reader called it a very good plan.

 

For those of you who are not familiar with the Inner

Circle of Sri Ramakrishna that he had formed, here is

brief info:

Sri Ramakrishna had his informal Inner Circle, the

members were hand picked by him after thorough

checking and testing. He was of course the heart and

mind of his Circle and was at its center. After his

Mahasamadhi (that is, leaving his physical body),

Swami Vivekananda became the leader of the Inner

Circle of Sri Ramakrishna. This was according to the

wish of Sri Ramakrishna.

The Inner Circle of Sri Ramakrishna was formed of the

direct disciples Sri Ramakrishna, some of them later

became monks. The first direct disciple of Sri

Ramakrishna was Sri Sarda Devi, the wife and divine

consort of Sri Ramakrishna, who was later known and

worshiped as the Holy Mother.

Of course there were ladies also in the Inner Circle

of Sri Ramakrishna.

 

In this series of columns I am proposing to form the

" Inner Circle " of Sri Ramakrishna for the new century.

My vision will keep unfolding as the series progress.

closer (for example in one country) should meet

frequently and have sessions of teachings which will

strengthen their faith in Holy Trio. They can

celebrate various functions such as Thakur's

Janamjayanti. They can devise upon ways to spread

teachings of Holy Trio and/or implementation of

teachings in their lives. The whole inner circle

should meet once or twice every year in Dakshineshwar

(or any other place associated with Holy Trio). They

should review various activities done during last 6

months - 1 year and plan for future. Yes, the group

has to have the leader and he/she should follow holy

trio's teaching in life as far as possible. "
