Guest guest
Dear Sriramji, Please accept my pranam. Yes, you are absolutely right about the power of God's name. We should never doubt this. The pure vibrations in our body get strengthened by taking God's name and singing bhajans. Don't we feel pure after such exercises? In the Bible it is said that " At first there was the Word " . In the Hindu scriptures we find that the world was created with AUM or the Omkar. The Muslims say Allah is the favoured word. In Reiki system of healing it is said that Mr Usui saw sanskrit alphabets entering his body in the form of light waves. In the life of Thakur we find the Ramayat saint, who donated Ramlala to Thakur, having a book with the name of Rama inscribed on every page. It is said that Dasratha was enraged that his son Rama was given such a short name. But then the sages explained that the word Rama contained everything in this universe. This incident is perhaps explained in Valmiki Ramayan. (Could anybody dig out the exact incident?). Or maybe I've seen this in Yoga Vasistha Ramayana. Similiarly the name Krishna. The name Krishna comes from the sanskrit word " Akrishta " meaning that which attracts. Does not Krishna attract us with his love and charm? Can we have a more sweet name than that? We the followers of Thakur are very fortunate that we take the names of both Sri Rama and Krishna by uttering the holy name of Sri Ramakrishna. Some say Mathur Babu or Totapuri gave him this name. Still others opine that Chinu Sankhari of Kamarpukur called him by that name. As far as I remember Thakur had signed an article by him in his childhood days as Ramakrishna, but I may be wrong. Actually when I read any book I do not do so with an intention of quoting from it so I may be wrong sometimes in refering to the right book. In India we are also very fortunate that people are named as Gods. This helps us in taking his name. As Indians we get wet by the flow of divine love whether we want it or not. Isn't that simply wonderful? The Tibetan book of the dead explains methods by which a soul can take rebirth in India. It is said that only extremely fortunate souls take birth in this holy land. So let us rejoice my brothers and take the holy name of Sri Sri Thakur in all earnest. Both Thakur and Holy Mother have said umpteen times that one who takes the name of God is already saved. I always remember the words of Mother, " Whenever you are in trouble remember that you have a mother " . We have a father, a mother and sixteen Gurus, so why should we worry?
