Guest guest
Dear sister Prema, One thing that you wrote alarmed me. You want to take on the suffering of your mother. Never try to do that. You are there to nurse her. You must be fit. I am an amateur homoeopath and Ayurved. There have often been times when unable to tackle a complicated case I have placed my hand on the body of the patient and tried to take on the illness myself. I don't know whether it did help the patient but it always brought a severe repurcussion on me, not just of the physical kind. Often I have felt dirty and disturbed for months on end after trying to do that. Illness is not just on a physical level Prema, it has its origin at the subtle level, where negative forces have caused the complication long before the physical disease has made its appearance. Often a desire to take on the illness of others results in transfer/contamination of these negative forces. So this practice is strict no-no especially for those who are very sensitive and wish to stay on the spiritual path. Disease is the release of negative acts which accumulate at the subtle level and find release through the physical body. One should never try to interfere with this process. It is the patient who has to suffer the course of the disease and get expurged. The patient can be helped by the reading of scriptures and conveying positive thoughts to him/her. People with a little spiritual power often try to transfer the disease from a human to an animal. But this is also an act against the natural law of nature. The Mother of Pondicherry asks us never to invite disease. She says by doing that we create an opening for disease to come and take hold of us. Often we have the thought that we have not suffered from fever for many days and hey presto, we come down with fever. In hatha yoga practices there is a practice to end the yoga session with a meditation session which gives an auto suggestion to the minf that we are totally fit in body and mind and that there is no disease within us. Even diseased persons are benefitted by this process of auto suggestion. There have been studies where cancer patients have been told that they are improving and they have really improved. Clinical examination has reported an increase of white blood corpuscles in their blood stream which explained the improvement. In homoeopathy and Ayurveda we often refrain from telling a patient that he has any serious disease. This often keeps them cheerful and helps them recover faster. Regards, Jagannath. Guest guest
Greetings, Most people are not strong enough to take a complete illness on themselves. Some great masters can do it alone, but always they had divine help and had to be alone afterwards to purge the illness from themselves. It is much safer to do this with a group of people " laying on of hands " together tapping into that all powerful healing energy of God. Then the whole ceremony cures all present.
