I am not very familiar with the ritual of cutting hair at Tirupati

but I do know that hair cut at various temples in India are sold at

auctions.

Hair from Indian women fetch the highest prices in Hollywood. This is

because Indian hair matches the hair of Europeans and Americans. A

full head of Indian hair can sell for $ 3,000.

Tirupati temple does brisk business in selling hair. Last year they

made $5.6 million.
