Guest guest
Interest to start a Sri Ramakrishna Friendship club in Dubai Dear Friends, There are many Hindu religious groups operating in Dubai. Though Hindu religious activities are officially not allowed here, there is no problem in conducting prayers in flats. I have observed that apart from the temple and Gurudwara at Bur Dubai and a Gurudwara compound in Al Qous and one more in Dubai, a number of flats host different groups. One is Hare Krishna Group, which is very active in Duabi, Sharjah and Ajman. They conduct regular prayer meetings and Gita discourses. Another active group is Brahma Kumaris. There are Mata Amrutananda Mayi’s and Sri Satya Sai Baba’s groups also there. Though these groups are active, I have much appreciation for them and all are welcome in their activities, some of them are having very narrow view points, which even contradicts with accepted Hindu scriptures. Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda were non-sectarian and stood for the upliftment of general Hinduism. To my knowledge, there are no groups who are devoted to SRK / SV operating here. There are very few who have even heard much about SRK / SV, or, they remain only in their homes, it seems. Perhaps I may be wrong. If there are any devotees of SRK / SV in Sharjah or Dubai, please contact me. I wish it is good if we can run a study group, which will benefit children and adults. Sincerely, Suresh Friends. Fun.
