Guest guest
Namaste Chanda. I am very familiar with your teacher, he visited us a couple of times recently here at Kashi Ashram in Florida where I live. If you take the opportunity to visit him in Florida please be sure and spend some time with us as well. For scientific studies on Yoga I think you’ll find Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s Transcendental Meditation folks very helpful. http://www.tm.org/ Also Yogi Bhajan’s 3HO Foundation has been involved in such studies in the past and they are generally very knowledgeable. http://www.3ho.org/ These sites should give you a good place to start. I don’t know of any organizations connected with Swami Ji which have been active in this area. I do know that the Ramakrishna Mission, and those organizations formally associated with Him, do not encourage Yoga practice. Although they are well aware of it and know they focus on the later practices of Raja, along with Bhakti (with which they are very familiar) and service, I think they are concerned with the potential preoccupation of physical practices being an impediment to attaining the goal.
