Once for instance I was walking along behind him,

(Swami Brahmananda)

and he suddenly turned around and said to me,

" Look, there are periods in life when the gods,as it were,

turn their face away, and whatever you do, you do not succeed.

But there comes another time when they turn their face

towards you, and whether you do something or not, you are

just pushed ahead. "

Now, why he told me that, I don't know. But I have treasured it.

I have found it is a truth applicable to our own existence,

because everything is rhythm-rise and fall, rise and fall.

You cannot deny it.
