Guest guest
Dear Friends, I am overwhelmed by the get well messages I have recieved from my dear brothers and sisters on this list. Thank you each one of you. I do not know whether the " old man " is happy with me. His tests are continuing and he is yet to give his final verdict. No wonder Swamiji used to hurl his choicest abuses against that madcap! Thank you all once again, it is your good wishes that bring me back on the path whenever I tend to stray away from it. A word on the debate on westerners and hinduism, it is wrong to say that only the devotees of God are marching towards him. Every being is hurtling towards the godhead whether he/she/it knows it or not. One becomes a known devotee only when one comes to realise this fact. The Lord mentions this in the Gita. I recently came across the statement of a scholar of the Vedas and Puranas, in a journal of MLBD Publishers, where he says that only Bharatvarsha (undivided India) is the karmabhumi where one can do sat karma. The rest of the world are places where beings reincarnate merely to enjoy the fruits of their actions. I think this is a very short sighted statement. What do the revered list members think? Warm regards, Jagannath.
Guest guest
Namaste Jagannath, Let me add my prayers for your health to those who love you here. I believe the tremendous incidence of very advanced spiritual beings moving to and incarnating in the west indicates that something very interesting is going on here. I can tell you from my own experience that the type of rarest spiritual beings we read about in the great heritage of Mother India are appearing here in the US and that there is a great renaissance of realization occurring. However, if I personally believed that we are reincarnated according to the merit of our past actions, I think that most of us would today be Veg-o-Matics. I would say that we (re)incarnate according to the impetus given the soul toward *awakening the Divine in manifestation* by the Creator (which is also the aspiration of the soul itself), and I would say that we (re)incarnate both where that is most possible for us but also where awakened beings are most needed. There is great need in the West for awakened beings just now. Hafizullah @)->---

Action is a part of human life no matter where we are. We are always acting- doing some thing. IN BHagvadgeeta, Krishna says: na hi kashsit Kshanam api Jaathu thisthati akarma krit, This means all human beings are engaged in some action always. It is impossible to be inactive. Even if you are sleeping, you are acting since you are breathing. The message of Karma yoga is not just for Hindus. It is for everyone. This message is , Perform actions but dont get deeply attached to the results of your action. It does not mean that we have no right to expect good results. It only means that although we can expect results, we have no control over results of our action and so, we should be detached, but perform karma in the most efficient way. Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam- This means " Skillfully performing your karmas is Yoga " ( not diplomaticaly, not wickedly with eveil intentions, but Karma dedicated to purify ourselves, and karma performed in an unselfish manner). > I recently came across the statement of a scholar of > the Vedas and Puranas, > in a journal of MLBD Publishers, where he says that > only Bharatvarsha > (undivided India) is the karmabhumi where one can do > sat karma. > > > ===== Incredibly low long distance phone rate: 4.5 cents pm! go to:http://www.ldpcphonemodem.cjb.net Need extra cash?
