I doubt it. > What do we mean by SATCHITANANDA??? Everyone who answers will try to explain it differently. But hardly anyone really knows IT, and those who do, cannot put IT into words. IT cannot be encompassed by words. IT is indescribable. Life cannot be understood. You must find it out yourSELF. Love, michael
Guest guest
Namaste, I'll play. The word means the same thing as God, or self. It is found through bliss, Ananda, the mind, what it is made of, Chit, is absorbed, dissolved into it's supreme essence which is bliss, it is what it is, Sat. This is done, or not done, on the path of grace which leads within. Think of bliss as unending happiness, everything which is not it must go. Sometimes this bliss takes the form of sorrow and lives in compassion. Love, Bob Taposhri [taposhri] Friday, August 13, 2004 5:24 PM ramakrishna_group [sri Ramakrishna] weekend question! Guest guest
Acchidananda liteally means Existence, Consciousness and Bliss. God is described as Existence-God /Truth was never born and never died. Anything that has a birth has death also. Chit is cosciousness- universal energy, the greatest power of the Lord. Ananda is the bliss that is beyond senses. This is the ultimate happiness , incomparable to th ehappiness that we get from anything else. --- Taposhri <taposhri wrote: > ===== Incredibly low long distance phone rate: 4.5 cents pm! go to:http://www.ldpcphonemodem.cjb.net Need extra cash? Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya Dear Taposhri, The word SATCHITANANDA can be split into, SAT-CHIT-ANANDA. SAT stands for Satya (Eternal) CHIT stands for Jnana (Knowledge) ANANDA stands for Bliss (Eternal Peace or state in which you are neither happy or sad) These are the attributes of the True Self. God realised Hindu sages often describe Satchitananda as Supreme Consciousness (which is beyond dual nature, i.e good-bad, happy-sad, etc) Sri Ramakrishnaya Namah Vivekananda Centre London http://www.vivekananda.co.uk
Guest guest
Dear Tapo and Friends: Until one knows what consciousness really is, from direct experience, Ananda and Sat can only be understood from within the limitation of the mind. Concepts about God are about concepts, they are not about God. The map is not the territory and the translations of words are not the experience framed by the words from the being of the experiencer. The mind is satisfied with more mind-stuff. For a while, anyway, because there is no lasting satisfaction or happiness from feeding the mind. The heart and soul are only satisfied with direct experience. Thanks for listening. Hafizullah @)->---
