Guest guest
Dear Taposhri, I agree with Michael that SATCHITANANDA cannot be explained. But let us divide the word into its constituents; SAT : The ultimate reality. That which exists. That which is not unreal. CHIT : The intellect. Here it means the refined intellect which is in touch with SAT. ANANDA : The bliss that arises from the above union. It is the bliss or the ANANDA part which cannot be put into words. It can only be felt by one who has so refined his intellect that he is able to have a peep into his atman, the reality that exists within us. This atman is actually the sutratman as different from the paramatman. It is called the sutratman because it acts as the thread (sutra) on which our many lives are sewn into. It is the continuity in our various incarnations. Ultimately it merges into the paramatman upon attaning Moksha or Nirvana whichever way you put it. This ANANDA is always there within us, only it is clouded by our impure intellect. The spiritual process is nothing but the cleaning of the intellect. When the intellect is clean the truth shines by itself and we enjoy an indescribable bliss. But we do get a mutated taste of that bliss as we progress in our spiritual path otherwise the journey would be too arduous. As Sri Ramakrishna appealed to Ma Bhabatarini, " Mother, do give them (the devotees) a taste of your bliss from time to time else how will they survive? " Regards, Jagannath.
