Guest guest
Dear Souravji, You are right in quoting from the Gospel. But the Gospel is meant for the householders. Thakur chose Sri Ma to spread his gospel for the common man. This is because Sri Ma was a householder who had himself faced the painful hazards of a householders life, almost forcing him to suicide, and wanted moksha. It is known to many that Swami Sivanandaji and also Swami Abhedanandaji were taking notes on the masters teachings. But Thakur dissuaded them saying the job was meant for someone else (Sri Ma was yet to arrive on the scene at that time). However Swami Abhedanandaji did bring out a portion of his writings on print but this is carefully orchestrated as per the version of Sri Ma. Thakur was pained at the life of the common man smugly immersed in the mundane pleasures of life and wanted to help them out of the mess. But to unmarried devotees his clear message was to stay out of the life of the householder. Even Holy Mother continually stressed on the life of an unmarried devotee if at all one was unable to take up sannyasa for some compelling reason. The life of a householder is indeed pure torture for those who sincerely wish to follow the spiritual life. More so in the third world countries where one has to struggle relentlessly for mere survival. For those wishing to know what Thakur had said for the sannyasis life, he has to go through the life and teachings of his immediate disciples notably Swami's Brahmanandaji, Sivanandaji, Adbhutanandaji and Hari Maharaj. I once again reiterate that the life of a householder is indeed very difficult and one should not entertain any wrong notions in this regard. It is easier for the men to lead an unmarried life. My heart goes out to those sisters who are forced into a life of marriage as they are considered to be a burden on their parents. Many of such pure souls revolting against marriage are finding solace in such organisations as the Sarada Math, Saradeswari Math, The Brahmakumari organisation based at Mount Abu etc. One has to visit such organisations to know how potent instruments in the hands of God are pure women in search of the divine. My humble obeisance to them. I would request everyone to go through the " Sri Ma Darshan " published by the Sri Ma Trust, Chandigarh, to know what Sri Ma himself had to say about the life of a householder. That should open your eyes. Love, Jagannath.
