MY UNFORGETTABLE SEVEN DAYS: 6

The Pilgrimage of Jairambati: The birthplace of the

Holy Mother

Ah me! What joy! we're in Jairambati. We are at the

Feet of Mother. pilgrimage? It's more than that. It is

homecoming. At last I'm at the eternal Refuge where I

had been always belonged and will eternally be

belonged. And it is sweeter than even home. It is the

Place where I can roam freely, where I can open my

heart without any hesitation. It is like playing in

the lap of Mother. And Mother smiles. Happy She is to

see Her lost child home home at last. Indeed by Her

grace.

The Presence of the Mother I feel in the marble image

in Matrimandir (temple to Mother built where She was

born.) Her face radiates with light.

A kathak (a religious storyteller), his voice choking

with emotion while uttering the word " Mother, " recites

Mother's story in Bengali before several Swamis and

village folk under a mandap (temporary covered

shelter) near Matrimandir.

After saluting the Head Swami Gauriswarananda, who is

a disciple of the Holy Mother, and after taking prasad

(consecrated food), we return to Kamarpukur.

After lunch (partaking of consecrated food) and

darshan at Kamarpukur, we again come to Jairambati.

This time we see the Mother's house, see the tank

Punyapukur, have darshan in Simhavahini (a form of

Mother) temple, once again we listen to the kathak and

salute Mother in Matrimandir.

While returning to Kolkata, we visit Shiv (God in His

aspect of Dissolver, one of the Hindu Trinity. When

worshiped as the Chosen deity, Shiv is the total

Godhead) temple at tarkeswar, also associated with the

life of Holy Mother.

(To be continued...)
