Guest guest
Dear Shyam, I agree with you whole heartedly but not all the way. I'm sure our Swamiji has already carved out a Vivekananda Loka and is now sending vibes to his dear devotees to join his list, sorry Loka, hehehe, and not that of the old man. The old man will be sorry at this but would not mind. Better than hitting his head on an iron railing. Swamiji was difficult to handle even during his earthly incarnation so he may well be relieved at him creating another Loka for himself and taking his entourage with him. Hehehe, how humanely funny!!! I, for one, would like to be in the Ramakrishna Loka. Thakur is easier to fool around with than Swamiji. I once had an interesting day dream about my going to Ramakrishna Loka; The day dream starts : I find myself in Thakurs room in Ramakrishna Loka. It seems deceptively similiar to his room at Dakshineswar. I hear a loud snoring sound and spy Thakur sleeping on the big cot turned away from me. I sit down on the floor, slightly disappointed at not finding Thakur eager and enthusiastic about receiving me. Perhaps this is his way of shattering my ego, I muse. It is a long wait before Thakur turns, wakes up and sits up on the cot. He pulls a long face and draws his hands down his face, like the way we read in the Kathamrita. Perhaps he was in samadhi and not sleeping as it seemed to the ignorant me. The snoring could well have been the anahata sound. His gaze falls on me. "Who are you," he asks sternly, startled by my presence. "Maharaj," I begin. He looks around as if wondering whom I was addressing. "Who are you talking to," he enquires. "I was adressing you Maharaj," I say with all humility, alarmed at the way things were turning out. "Why do address me as Maharaj?" he enquires baffled. "That's the way we address your children on earth Sir," I blurt out. "Ah, is it!" a hint of a sarcastic smile breaks out on his face. "And how do they address me out there?" "Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa Deva," I venture. "Are you sure?" the frown on his face is back again, ""I hear things like, "crazy old man, bumbling fool, mad cap" His gaze intensifies as he scorchingly observes every expression on my face. "Definitely not Sir !!!!" I say with a lot of emphasis, my heart thumping wildly. "Ah, " he says but I can feel he is not entirely convinced. "How is Shankar? " he enquires. I am initially baffled but soon make out, "Yes Sir, Srimat Swami Ranganathananadaji Maharaj is doing just fine." He looks at me quizzically again. ""You are sure you don't refer to him as "the old man"?"" "Definitely not Sir," I was horrified, "I would never do that!!! Not in my wildest dreams!!!" "Ah," he says again, "at least he is spared. But you do call me the mad cap, don't you?" By now I'm sure he is on the Ramakrishna list and goes through all our posts. Sweating profusely and with downcast eyes I fervently wish I was elsewhere. He seems to enjoy my discomfiture but lets me off the hook. "Have you eaten anything?' he enquires sympathetically. "No sir, " I said, suddenly feeling hungry. "There are some sweetmeats in that corner. Do have them. Ramlal's Aunt is not here right now. She has gone to earth. She'll be back soon after the Durga Puja and attend to you, don't worry." He returns to his sleep, er Samadhi, and starts emitting the anahata sound. Day Dream ends: Do you think Swamiji would have let me off the hook so easily? The Vivekananda Loka is definitely not for me!!! Thank you!!! Regards, Jagannath. Ps: Jay, could you kindly check if somebody called Gadadhar Chattopadhyay is on our list? His email id could be kali . Do let me know. vote. - Register online to vote today!
